Full Description
The remains of seven shieling-type bothies are visible on aerial photographs in the area centred NC 034 286 (visible on RAF air photographs 106G.Scot.UK 164: 4404-5 - flown 23 August 1956). They average 4.5 m long and 3.0 m wide, and round-ended and stand in a small area of formerly cultivated ground near the shore.

The bothies, standing to 0.5 m high, are generally as described by the previous field investigator, but whether this is a shieling site is uncertain as the position along the sea shore is unusual and the vegetation cover on the footings is less than normal. It is possible that the footings post-date the Clearances, or were associated with a sea shore industry (i.e. kelp-burning.
