JOHN PRESTON, wreck remains with tightly packed cargo of slates lie in 21 metres. Bottom drops off steeply just beyond the wreck, known locally as the SLATE WRECK.

Detailed survey and recording of this wreck took place from 1994 to 2000, followed by remote sensing surveys in 2000 and 2003. A full report on the findings of the work can be found in <2> and <3>.
