A building, lying at the bottom and to the S of a steep slope at the edge of a small birch woodland, was recorded during a forestry survey by Headland Archaeology (NMRS MS 899/64, no.5). there is a small watercourse immediately W of the building which measures 5.8m by 2.8m within walls ranging between 0.7m and 0.9m in thickness except at the ends which are only 0.6m thick. The walls stand up to 0.6m in height on the N and W. The entrance is off-centre on the S wall.
Fragmentary traces of a potentially earlir foundation lie immediately outside the E end of the structure. These are defined by occasional protruding stones and stony ground underfoot.
