Full Description

A roughly rectangular shaped rubble bank, constructed at the mouth of the Allt a' Mhuilinn just above the pebble beach, was recorded during a pre-afforestation survey by Headland Archaeology (NMRS MS 899/80, no.2). It is approximately 1m wide and up to 0.2m high. The bank is not continuous but has been built between gaps in the bedrock to form a fairly regular rectanular enclosure, measuring 4m from E to W by 3m, which appears to dam the burn, perhaps creating a tank of freshwater at the edge of the beach.
L Baker and C Moloney (Headland Archaeology) 24 April 1998; NMRS MS 899/80, no.2
