Full Description
Swordle-chaol (4 tenants), Swordle-mhor, (6) and Swordle-chorrach (6) were cleared in 1853 by Sir James Milles Riddell, and consolidated as a single sheep farm (Swordle: NM 547 702). In 1847 the tenants had contracted to build new houses, of stone and lime, 40' by 17 1/2' by 7 1/2', and these were completed in 1851.
