A watching brief was carried out on the machine-excavation of the foundations of a telecommunications mast. The site, on the SE-facing slope of Cnoc Ravoch hill, was 70m to the NE of a severely robbed probable chambered cairn (NH 5575 6120). No artefacts or structures were encountered. (SUAT DW01).

NH 5582 6125 A watching brief was carried out at Cnoc Ravoch, Woodlands Farm near Dingwall, by SUAT (Scottish Urban Archaeolgical Trust Ltd) on 6-7th of July and then on19th August. The site of the brief is on SE slope of Cnoc Ravoch and is approx 2.5km NE of the centre of Dingwall. The watching brief was commisioned by Main McCook Chartered Architects on behalf of their client Orange PCS Ltd on installation of a telecommunications mast in July and in August the digging of trenches to lay cable. This archaeolgical condition was placed on planning application by Highland Archaeolgy Service due to close proximity of a Neolithic chambered cairn (NH56SE 8) and other sites and therefore the potential for new discoveries. All ground disturbance was monitored and no features and finds were recorded. No further work has been recommended.
