NH 9320 5484 An archaeological watching brief was carried out in connection with the laying of a hydro-electric line prior to the construction of a housing development at Garblies Farm, Auldearn. No deposits or features of archaeological significance were found.

NH 9320 5484 From the 21-23rd of September 1999 an archaeological watching brief was carried out by Headland Archaeology Ltd at Garblies Farm, Auldearn. The brief was in connection with the laying of electric powerlines prior to the construction of a housing development at Garblies Farm. The site is to the E of Auldearn and lies in an area with a large number of archaeological sites and features ranging from the neolithic to medieval periods. A total of five post holes and four service trenches were excavated to a depth of 1m to 1.5m but no archaeolgical features or finds were discovered. The report concludes that no further analysis or reporting is required.

NH 9322 5482 (centre) A watching brief was undertaken in connection with the construction of a house at the site of Old Miller's Cottage. The work followed an evaluation which tentatively identified Bronze Age activity. The present work identified considerable 19th and 20th-century disturbance but no definite archaeological deposits or features.
