Three buildings and two clearance cairns, situated on Torr Dubh, were recorded during a pre-afforestation survey on the Killiehuntly Estate. The northernmost building comprises a sunken rectangular area measuring 11m from NE to SW (on plan) by 2.5m within irregular, 0.9m wide stony banks standing up to 0.3m in height. Within there are two rooms, the smaller to the S measuring 4m in length. Two small clearance cairns, 3m to 4m in diameter and up to 0,3m in height, lie to the S of the building.
A second building lies to the S, within the E corner of a small wood. The building measures 6m by 2m and comprises little more than a platform on the S and W but is defined by a 0.8m wide and 0.2m high stony bank on the E. The N side is ill-defined. A third possible building, reduced to a spread of stony rubble measuring 7m by 4m, lies to the SW, again within the woodland.
None of these buildings (nor the wood) are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Invernesshire 1872, sheet cii) although a fourth building, lying outside the present survey area to the NW of the wood is shown as roofed on that map.
