A farmstead, comprising two rectangular buildings, a sub-circular structure and an area of quarrying, situated on a low ridge some 200m SW of Torr Dubh, were recorded during a pre-afforestation survey on the Killiehuntly Estate.
The two buildings lie parallel to each other. The SE building measures 12m from NE to SW by 3m with a sunken interior defined by low, turf-clad stony banks up to 1.2m wide and 0.25m high. There is a possible entrance in the middle of the SE wall. The NW building measures 8m from NE to SW by 3.5m and comprises a sunken interior with low, turf-clad stony banks up to 1.2m wide and 0.25m high. Again there is a possible entrance in the middle of the E wall. The subcircular structure lies to the W. It measures 5m in diameter with a 1.5m wide, 0.2m high curving bank. A stone dyke overlies the structure.
The 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Invernesshire 1872, sheet cii) depicts a roofed building an adjacent enclosure, built against the stone dyke. However its location does not correspond to any of the structures recorded.
The quarrying lies to the N of the farmstead. It comprises five pits ranging between 5m and 10m in diameter and 0.7m deep, and an exploratory trench, measuring 28m in length, 2m in width and 0.4m in depth.
