Full Description
NH70SE 16 773 000.
Air photography has revealed a possible crannog site on the edge of Strath Spey, between Ruthven and Torcroy. Ground survey has yet to be undertaken to assess the site. (See Archive for details.)
Information from J Harden 1989.
Visited 12/01/2000 by Community Archaeologist: this area was substantially landscaped in the late 1970s to provide ponds within the RSPB area. The machinery created a number of ponds by dredging and piling up material in embankments. It is likely that any upstanding feature in this area is a result of this recent activity. It is unlikely that this is an antique feature of the landscape. Information from Tom Prescott, RSPB Warden, Insh Marshes Reserve.
