Full Description

This tweed mill was established at the end of the 19th century, and the construction of its lade from by the falls under the present road bridge would have been a major feat. The mill was a major employer, processing mill from the Outer Hebrides. Fleece was landed and the finished tweed shipped away on the shore immediately below the mill. Part of a loom has been observed buried on the shore below the mill. <1>
