Full Description

A group of pits which have been provisionally dated to the Bronze Age on the basis of a sherd of comb-impressed pottery that was recovered from one of the features. The pits pre-date the remains of an Iron Age roundhouse. None of the pits had been left open for long as there were no signs of weathering or slumping within the fills. <1>

Further excavation took place in February 2010 following the removal of an electricity pole. The remainder of one of the above pits was excavated and further features were identified which have been assigned to this phase of activity. <2>
