Full Description

NH20SE0001 and NH20SE0004. Two crannogs given the same name but different OS references. Both will now be under water. There is only one islet of this name mentioned in Ellice's Placenames book and that is located as being in Little Loch Garry. NH20SE0001 would be the appropriate reference point.
H M Rogers, Invergarry.

NH20SE 1 257 022.

One of two islands in Loch Garry, both known as Eilean nan Mhuilchean, is opposite the 4th. milestone from Invergarry and c. 200 yards from the south side of the loch. It is a natural feature enlarged by stones brought from the shore. There are the remains of a causeway to the mainland. No evidence of timbering was seen in the island which is accepted as a crannog by the author.
O Blundell 1910

The level of the loch has been raised and the island is now submerged. No trace of a causeway could be found.
Visited by OS (R D) 28 May 1964

Visited by OS (N K B) 8 October 1970
