Full Description

A stone pile, a possible clearance cairn at Allt an Lochain Dubhaidh, Durness. The site was seen during a walkover survey by C Dagg in 2011 in advance of a proposed forestry planting scheme. It was located in an area of grass and bracken adjacent to a small watercourse and was an amorphous pile of medium-sized stones. It was interpreted as fiedl clearance, more likely to be to improve grazing than to prepare ground for cultivation. <1>
