Full Description

An elongated mound, was seen near Fastly, Farr, Sutherland, during a walkover survey by Highland Archaeology Services in 2007 prior to a proposed wind farm development. It was L-shaped and measured c.13m x 7m and c.2.5m wide at its widest point. It lay close to a proposed access track and it was recommended that it should be investigated if construction works were to affect this area. <1>

This feature was visited again in 2012 by Highland Archaeology Services during a walkover survey prior to the proposed development of a wind farm to the southeast of Bettyhill. <2> However, it is unclear whether this is the same feature as the dimensions given (5.6m x 4.3m with a height of 0.5m) do not correlate with the findings from the 2007 survey.
