Full Description

The footings of a rectangular building on an artificial platform on a fairly steep slope, was noted at Second Coast, Gairloch, during a walkover survey by C Dagg in 2008 prior to an OHL replacement scheme between Aultbea and Dundonnell. This building is not recorded on the OS 1st Edition map and may post-date the 1870s. <1> For the crofting township see MHG21642.

On aerial photographs and modern OS mapping, this building appears to have a small water course running through its centre. This may indicate its possible use as an animal shelter or barn [IS-L 09/08/2013].
