Full Description
A stone setting and a possible cairn, were noted at Gleann Garbh, Gairloch, during a walkover survey by C Dagg in 2008 prior to an OHL replacement scheme between Aultbea and Dundonnell. The stone setting, consisting of eight stones, of which four were upright, was situated at the end of a narrow ridge. It measured 1.5-2m in width. A scatter of rubble 4m wide filling the narrow ridge top may have been the remains of a cairn. <1>
These features cannot be seen on the available aerial photgraphs and the grid reference supplied may not be entirely accurate as it is not the same position as that shown on the survey plan in the report [IS-L 09/08/2013].
